Well here we go. Some will say those are just fine to use, I say the engine filters 10% of the oil and to me that's a bottle neck that can cause a buildup and result in a spun bearing from lack of oil. The correct bearing is an oblong hole, see link, so you get maximum oiling to avoid the spun bearing syndrome. I wouldn't drill it, it could result in raised metal areas from drilling that's going to wear the crank journal.
