Go to the link and scroll down to the step-by-step wiring guide. The "BATT" on the alternator is connected to the "+" battery side, the "I" is connected to the ignition switch "I". If you wanted to know the charging rate, you could wire in the ammeter gauge in the wire going to the switch, but being your gauge is 6V, the alternator will produce more amps than the gauge can handle so you may not want to do that. Other than the alternator and electric pump/safety switch , rest should apply.
