Clint and Vaughn,

First off thanks for all the hints and feed back it has been super helpful to verify that I am doing things correct!

This is a WM300 and just a fun toy / show truck (although i dont go to many shows). I imagine that the 4WD will not get used that often.

I played around with moving the ring gear in and out also within the allowed backlash tolerance range and to be honest there was not much change in the tooth pattern. I even checked the runout of the back side of the ring gear and it is only 0.002" so that is within spec too.

This is the best tooth pattern i could get:

I think i came to the same conclusion as Clint mentioned. I am going to rebuild the front and see what tooth pattern I get and then pick the best of the two and stick it in the rear.

This truck is going to be living a retired life so i think i might just be overly picky and want things to be perfect. I am an engineer btw so everything needs to be perfect HAHAHAHA.

Thanks
Glenn
