Sounds like the old flathead is getting tired. What I quoted was out of the FF Power-Wagon Owner's Manual page 73. The oil pressure gauge gives a reading of pressure resistance and warning if some stoppage occurs in the lubrication system, provided of course you periodically glance at the gauge before squealing occurs. As we all know, over time clearances become greater, less resistance, lower oil pressure. Some go by the general rule of 10 lbs. of pressure for every 1,000 of engine rpm. And the old mechanic is right, pressured oil is queued until it makes it's way through the lubrication system. :=)
