Vaughn, in reading this post something struck me in how you mounted the engine. You stated the you adjusted and set the engine so that the carb was level. This means that the crankshaft is also level. The crankshaft needs to be approximately at the same angle as the pinion shaft in the rear axle and the transfer case shafts need to be at that same angle. This will allow the drive shaft U joints to work correctly with minimal vibration. The height difference between these components gives the working angle needed for the U joints. I haven't checked my PW to see what the rear pinion shaft angle is but I bet is not level.
